As above re depth of focus plus - a bold crop from the right to move the 'bud' away from the centre where it looks a bit 'floating' would give the composition a bit more punch.
And how about a bit of selective tinkering to change the colour of the bud to make it stand out from the background (a golden wheaty colour maybe). Probably a very contentious suggestion - but maybe worth a play...
